August
was a rollercoaster. I spent pretty much the whole month glued to my screen: finished
a K-Drama (Miss Night and Day), watched tons of ‘Run for Your Life!’ kind of movie,
and I managed to complete the entire episode of Kaiju No. 8 in just one
sitting. I’ve also finished a non-fiction book and got back to exercising
regularly which made me feel less guilty about all those screen marathons.
Here’s
a rundown of the movies I watched this month:
- A
Quiet Place: Day One (2024). I
give it a 6/10, fully understood that cats have nine lives.
- Two
Blue Hearts (2024). It’s
a 7/10. This movie made me think trice about having kids.
- As
Above So Below (2014). It’s
a solid 10/10! I’m a big fan of Found Footage movies.
- Longlegs
(2024). Meh,
5/10. A bit disappointed because everyone on the internet kept talking
about this movie, but it turned out to be far from what I expected.
- In
The Tall Grass (2019). 9/10
for sure. The movie is so gripping, it kept me on the edge of my seat,
exactly what I’d expect from Stephen King’s movie.
- The
Mist (2007). I’d
give it a hundred if I could/10. Let the rating speak for itself.
- The Ruins
(2008). Same
as the previous movie: 100/10. It’s so good that I couldn’t look away even
just for a second. And quick advice: Don’t join strangers’ trip.
- The
Silence (2019). I
gave it an 8/10: fanatics believers are scarier than immigration officers.
- Knowing
(2009). Another
8/10, Okay movie. I don’t wanna know what’s my future holds, and I don’t
wanna go back to the past either. At first, I believe I’d be part of the
group that would try to destroy the time machine if it ever got created.
But now that I think about those paradox again, I decided to stay chill.
- Fractured
(2019). 9/10.
Insane.
Speaking of, I’m still keeping up with Boruto: season 21, episode 169.
